"Ofa Atu!"

Hello!

This week went well. Sister Hala'api'api and I are getting better at understanding each other! haha. Language study is really fun. English is so difficult sometimes.

We went on exchanges last week and I got to go to Boise North. I saw two people there from my other areas. One was an investigator's mom and the other was a couple that met in the single's ward I served in last fall and now they're married! They looked so familiar when I walked in and then eventually we figured out why! All my areas are so close together that I see people I know all the time. It's fun.

Also when I was in Boise North we saw a homeless man outside the gas station. He asked us if we had any change. We didn't but I was holding the Book of Mormon and so I asked him if we could give it to him. He accepted it and we explained that it was another testament of Jesus Christ that goes with the Bible and that he would find peace in reading it. He was really grateful. When we got back in the car we looked over and he was already reading it! Sometimes the Lord puts us right where we need to be.

I've learned some Tongan words! Ofa Atu = I love you. and then Malo e leilei is hello!

Have a great week! Ofa atu!

"What smoking help you a lot?" -Sis H. "Well, it doesn't help me at all."

Malo e lelei!!!

I'm learning some Tongan!

This week was pretty busy! On Tuesday we got to go to a Relief Society activity where we learned about herbs and got to taste-test them! After that we contacted a former investigator and he said that he and his wife quit smoking! And that he wants to get "dunked" soon. haha.

On Wednesday we had zone conference. All the missionaries in Boise and Meridian got together. I always feel so spiritually drained after those meetings! But in a good way. On Thursday night we visited with one of our investigators from the Congo and helped her with her English and learning what all the road signs mean. That was fun. We've contacted a lot of people and met a lot of interesting people this week. We spoke in one of our wards on Sunday. Sister H gave her first ever talk in English it she did so well! She made everyone cry the spirit was so strong. Then Sunday night we contacted two potential investigators and set appointments. And then we made it to this member's house just in time to help her sister pack up her car to drive back to her home which is 4 hours away. Inspiration!

I love my mission! Have a great day!

"Your future wife gain 10 pounds."

Hello!

So my new companion is Sister Hala'api'api from TONGA! I love her. She is so sweet and has so much faith. She is really bold and just tells you how it is.

We had a good week even though we had a few trials. Two of the people we've been teaching don't want to be taught anymore. We are really sad because we love them and want them to be happy. But we all have the freedom to choose.

Other than that we've been having fun doing service and teaching other people. The members here take really good care of us. We went to a member's house to talk to our families on Sunday and they also made us dinner. It was nice.

I get to help Sister Hala'api'api with her English which is fun. Maybe my calling is to help others with their mission language.

At the trainers meeting on Monday one of the Elders dropped a hymn book and Sister Lee from Korea said "Your future wife gain 10 pounds." bahaha

Love you all! Please write if you can!

"If you ever marry a guy who doesn't get this..."

Hello!

So today is transfer day. Sister Turner went to Nampa to speak Spanish! I will miss her, but she will be able to learn Spanish better there. I will be training a new missionary again and staying in Boise. I'm excited!

So we had a lot of stuff going on this week. Tuesday we went on exchanges. Sister Turner went to Nampa with the Spanish sisters and I got Sister Cline. We had a awesome gospel discussion with an LDS family that fed us dinner and the dad said "if you ever marry a guy who doesn't get this just call us and we'll have him over for dinner." haha.

Wednesday we had Sisters Conference. It's always fun getting all the sisters together. We have 25 right now and we are going to have 41 by June. Exciting!

On Thursday we taught this family about how the Book of Mormon can answer questions of the soul. Like the 12 year old asked "How do I know if God answers my prayers?" and we read from Enos https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/enos/1?lang=eng It was so cool that he actually asked that!

On Friday we had another meeting...this time zone meeting. We went to Hawaiian BBQ for lunch. And had dinner at a members house. That's important information because on Friday night we both woke up and puked. We were really sick and stayed in all day Saturday. So we don't know what got us sick but we think it was something we ate. The Elders came and gave us blessings and on Sunday morning we woke up feeling a lot better. Power of the priesthood!

Have a great week everyone! Letters/emails are much appreciated!

Also, Happy Early Mother's Day to all the mother's out there!

Love, Sister Bishaw

"So, I'm Apache, and You're Jesus Christ." -Scarry Larry

Hola!

So this week was awesome! Last Monday we took a lot of hilarious pictures so check it out. Tuesday was my birthday and we got to go to the Boise temple! We also had a great lesson with a couple we are teaching. We taught them about the word of wisdom and tithing and they accepted those commandments right away! The wife said that she drinks coffee so that would be hard to stop but then the husband suggested that she drink a nice fruit smoothie instead and she thought that was a great idea! Some people are so prepared. We also met a man named skip and helped him move his TV. He was so cool. He talked to us for a while. He says he loves everything about our church except Joseph Smith. We went tracting on Wednesday and we saw Scarry Larry's ice cream truck in Scarry Larry's driveway and specifically knocked on his door and met him! He is 70 and he started the truck 21 years ago. He developed his own breed of tomato and he knows a war dance. He said God is in his heart and not in the church. We also looked at our nametags and said "So, I'm Apache and you're Jesus Christ." Nice. He's a cool guy. On Friday we met this lady who is getting evicted from her apartment on Wednesday. It was really sad. She has some LDS family so she wanted to know if the church can help her. We got her in touch with the Bishop so hopefully he can. She has 2 children and the baby is developmentally disabled. We read from the Book of Mormon and told her to not give up hope and to keeping praying and all will work out. It's cool to be able to use the scriptures to comfort others who are struggling. Right after dinner on Friday we stopped by to see the family from the Congo. The mom gave us each a plate of homemade French Fries with mayo! They were good but we were so full. On Sunday we had 13 people we are teaching come to church! We worked really hard to help them get there this week. It was great to see them all there. A family that sat behind our family from the Congo invited them over Sunday night for crepes and to have the lesson at their house. The LDS people here help us so much. The work is really picking up getting ready for the mission to split. It's an exciting time.

Love you all!!
