"If an 8-year-old can do it, so can I!"

Hello!!

This week went really well. We focused on getting to know members that we don't know. It's hard to get to know people well because we cover so many wards. But it's important to know people so we can find friends for those we teach! We found perfect people to come with us to our lessons this week. We learned that a little planning and hard work goes a long way! We found someone to come with us to our appointment on Friday that related to the person we were teaching so well! She had been in a similar situation that our investigator is in so she gave her some tips like listening to scriptures on her phone to save time! On Saturday morning we still hadn't found anyone to come with us to our appointment that afternoon so we prayed that we would find someone and then called everyone we could think of but no one answered. But a little later someone called back and she said she could come with us! God answers prayers. We do what we can and then the Lord does the rest.

On Friday we got to go to the Temple. We were a little late so we didn't end up going with our district but another group of Elders happened to be there! Then that night we went to a baptism in Middleton. A man named Vance that I taught during the 6 weeks I was there got baptized! His wife is LDS. When the Elders came in I guess he thought they came on too strong so he stopped meeting with them. Then he saw an 8 year old get baptized and he said "if an 8 year old can do it, so can I." So he got it together and he was baptized on Friday. Over 100 people came to his baptism! It was a big deal because now he can be sealed to his family. Miracles happen every day.

We spoke in one of our wards on Sunday and it was so inspired. We spoke with the high councilman over missionary work. Sister Lee and I both ended up talking about the Savior and His Atonement. Then our high councilman did too. He told us after that he changed his talk while we were talking! After the meeting a man came up to us and said his brother came to church and wants to meet with us to learn more! We'll start teaching him this week!

Thanks for all the prayers! Have a fantastic week! Email me if you can!! Transfers are next week so we'll see what happens!! We have  new sisters coming in!

Love you all!!

Fanci Fries

Hello! Happy Monday everyone!

On Tuesday we went on exchanges. So I went to Nampa with Sister Huffman and Sister Hamilton came to Boise with Sister Lee. Upon arriving to Nampa, Sister Hamilton called us and asked us where the car fixing place was. I asked why and she said there was a screw in our tire! Apparently I drove all the way to Meridian with a screw in my tire. The Lord truly does protect his missionaries. Thanks for all the prayers guys! They work. But Nampa was fun. I got to do some of my family history. I have So much more information than I thought. So  many names, it's awesome. I also met a girl who is coming back to church after not coming for 15 years. Her boyfriend died last summer and she was really mad at God about it. But then she decided to move to Boise and she started studying the Book of Mormon again and coming to church. Going back to church is really the best thing you can do when difficult things happen in your life. Walking away from God is the worst thing you could do.

We found some new people to teach this week. One is man who has been clean of drugs for 5 years. He grew up LDS and now he wants to come back and have us teach his children. He said he knows that it's only because of God that he was able to quit. The power of God is great. We also went knocking doors and found a man who stopped coming to church a few months ago after he got divorced. He's only in his 30's so it's hard for him to go to the family wards alone. We invited him to come back. He didn't come...yet. But he lives across the street from the ward mission leader though. We also knocked on a door and then the girl who lived there walked up behind us. So we started talking to her and she said that she doesn't go to any church but she has an LDS friend and would be interested in learning more. We gave her a Book of Mormon and got her number.

Saturday was a pretty busy day. First we washed someone's dog. Then we had a lesson. Then we ran to Fanci Freeze to get some food because someone gave us a gift card. Sister Lee called is Fanci Fries once. haha. That's a good name too. Then we taught another lesson. Then we went to meet our ride to Horseshoe Bend. Sister Lee had a baptism in her old area. These members were kind enough to take us even though it's an hour away. They ended up knowing some of the people at the baptism!

So it was a good week. We also got permission to email friends. So if you email me I'll email you back!

Have an awesome week! Thanks for all the support! I can feel the prayers! Love you all!

"Wo-I-Ni"

Hey Everyone!

This week went well even though we had a lot of appointments cancel and reschedule! I am learning that the plans we make that I think are just wonderful are not necessarily what the Lord would have us do. I'm learning how to give my will up to God, but it's not so easy when you're as stubborn as I am. ;) We had a cool experience on Sunday night. We were going to our last appointment and on the way there we passed by the house of a part-member family and I felt like we had to stop there but I pushed that aside because I wanted to go see this other person. So we go knock on her door and of course she's not there. So then I said "Fine, let's go back to the part-member family's house." Even though I feel like we bother them a lot. We did and we found that just the wife who is not LDS was there and we were able to talk to her and comfort her because she is going through some health issues. So I need to trust in promptings even when they don't make sense logically because the Lord knows more that I do. I learned humility and patience this week.

We had one person we are teaching come to church on Sunday and they stayed for all 3 hours! She has 3 little kids and she is excited about coming to church and meeting with us. Definitely a tender mercy of the Lord and she has definitely been prepared by the Lord.

I love my mission even though it's hard. It's making the person that Heavenly Father wants me to be.

Thanks for all the support! Please write me! Even if it's short! Letters really help.

Love you all!!

Ni Hao

Hey Everyone!

This has been an exciting week! First of all, I've been learning some Chinese. Like Hello is "Ni Hao" and it's pronounced "knee-how." Sister Lee is so cool. She also wrote my name in Chinese for me. Her English is really good too and we do language study every day so I get to help her learn new words and stuff. It's fun.

Another exciting thing is that the Idaho Boise Mission is being split into 3 separate missions on July 1st! There will be the Idaho Nampa Mission on the west, the Idaho Boise Mission in the middle, and the Idaho Twin Falls mission east of that. So eventually we're going to find out which mission we are getting assigned to! There will be 3 new mission presidents and around 200 missionaries in each mission. The Lord is hastening his work! This is an exciting time!

We also found 4 new people to teach this week! We fasted and prayed that we would find those who are searching and that we can help learn about Jesus Christ. I know that fasting and praying works. The Lord keeps His promises. As we do what he asks, he blesses us. It's as simple as that.

You are all awesome! I would love some letters or emails please!!! Love you all! :)

"Be More Persistent than the Avon Lady" -Elder Holland

Hello!!

Today was transfers! They seem to come faster and faster every time! I'm with Sister Lee from Taiwan now and still in Boise South. She's super sweet! Sister Houtz went to Nampa South with Sister King - my companion before her!

Last Monday we went to Lucky Peak with Elizabeth and Robert! We took some funny pictures. We taught a family for FHE and we showed the 9 year old a picture of Lehi's Dream and he said "I know that one! It's with the rod that leads to the magic fruit tree!" haha (1 NE 8).

I learned how to tat this week! Like I can do it well now. It's like making lace. I want to get really good at it so I can pass it on because it's a dying art.

We saw some miracles this week! First of all, Sara is out of the hospital. She was on a respirator for like 20-something days. It's a miracle that she can breathe on her own now and she is home and she is quitting smoking. She said they disgust her now. Another miracle - one morning we were trying to contact a widow lady and she wasn't there but we met her less-active great-granddaughter who walked by. She's 21, has 2 kids, and is divorced. Some people experience everything so fast. She's so sweet. She's a BSU student. It was cool to meet her and we invited her back to church. But while we were talking to her, this other member came us in her car and said hi to us and told us she knew people we could try to teach. We ended up getting a new investigator!

Have a great week everyone!!

In case you didn't know, I love letters. Like I could never ever have too many ;) haha love you all!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello!

Last P-day was fun. We went around taking pictures! We also got the car washed and serviced. That was fun. I also bought some fried chicken at WINCO. Good times.

We got a referral on Tuesday saying this man was taught in Washington and has questions. We contacted him and he told us he didn't have the heart to tell his LDS friend he's not interested. Sad when that happens. But we were able to invite him to read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is a message from Him.

We went on exchanges on Wednesday. Sister Houtz went to a different part of Boise and I got Sister Jardine from Caldwell. We had a lot of fun. It's always good to learn from different companions. We invited one of our investigators to read the Book of Mormon and other less-actives to go to church. It was great.

I did some of my family history on Saturday and it was super fun. I could only do it for an hour but I could have sat there all day. Go to familysearch.org and see what you can find about your ancestors!

We spoke in 2 different wards on Sunday! We both just used the same talk twice. It was kind of weird because I felt like I was repeating myself, but it went well.

Thanks for all the love! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Letters are always appreciated of course :)

When will the Lord come again? "Probably during the Super Bowl" -President Joseph Fielding Smith"

HOLA!!

This last week was full of awesome things!

On P-day we finally got to play volleyball! There were at least 50 missionaries there. We had 2 courts and 8 teams and we'd take turns. It was really fun. Oh, and we had a miracle happen. So we went to Winco before we played volleyball and we met a member couple there who have a grandson serving in Taiwan. They said they can't send him things very often so they wanted to help us. So they gave us $20 and said "go buy something fun." What nice people! We decided that muffins were fun. They we just put all our groceries together, had them take off the $20 and then split the rest. We ended up only have to spend 12 dollars each on groceries! We got 14 cents back. Now, that is significant because after that we decided to use my Burger King gift card which has $10 on it and our order came out to $10.14! I love when things work out like that. :)

On Tuesday we went to the Boise Temple! That always boosts me up spiritually! It's so peaceful there. After that we met this lady who served in WWII. She had awesome stories and she looks so good for her age!

At dinner on Thursday there was a kid there who lives in my old area but is friends with a kid in my new area. My areas are so close that I see people from my old ones all the time! The kid's name is Ammon and he told this story about when he was on the track team and he ran the 800 and he got last place every time. Except one time he "almost got second to last." bahaha We thought he was going to say he almost got first.

This week was full of apostles! We got to hear from Elder Ballard and Elder Christofferson on Saturday. They spoke to the missionaries and they took the time to shake everyone's hand! We also heard from a member of the presiding bishopric and from 3 seventies. We got to sit up front because we're sisters. It was cool to be so close to them! The spirit was so strong. They counseled us to turn our missions over to the Lord. On Sunday we got to hear from Elder Ballard again at the Boise South Stake Conference. He challenged us to look at our lives and see if anything is amiss and fix it now. He said, "There's no time to wast time."

Please pray for the people we are teaching! A lot of them have been sick lately. Thanks!

Love you all! Have a great week! Please write me if you can! 1111 S. Cole Rd Boise, ID 83709.
